Eight Indian athletes suspended before Commonwealth Games

Eight prospective Commonwealth athletes from India have been suspended after failing to clear drug tests in an embarrassing blow a month before India hosts the Commonwealth Games.
Five of these athletes were to have competed in the Games and one was considered a gold medal prospect.

Derek Jeter, the New York Yankees and Shortstop, has reached a preliminary agreement recently on a US$51 million ($67 million), three-year contract with an US$8 million player option for 2014.

South Australian cyclist suspended for two years

Stephen Sabine, the South Australian cyclist, has been handed over a suspension of two years after testing positive to anabolic steroids.
The test was conducted by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) during an in-competition test on Sabine in April 2009 during the South Australian Criterium Championships.

IOC considering four-year ban on first time offenders
